What will the apprentice be doing?

Working within the IT technical team, you will implement technology solutions that enable NHSP to develop new products, services and increase productivity through the use of digital technologies. Some key responsibilities:
  • Champion effective use of IT services
  • Provide IT solutions
  • Build strong working relationships
  • Database administration tasks
  • Project Management
  • Identify organisational risk
  • Communicate complex technical information
  • Adhere to IT security policy
  • Problem Management

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
  • Upon successful completion, you will achieve a BSc (Hons) degree in Digital and Technology Solutions
  • You will specialise in Cyber Security or Data Analysis
  • One day per week (or equivalent) for study
  • You will receive mandatory training upon joining NHSP and be supported with continuous development opportunities throughout, consisting of a range of blended learning opportunities
  • Apprenticeship learning will be conducted remotely through the Open University, with regular tutor contact throughout

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have become a software engineering specialist in NHSP. You will have the opportunity to apply for relevant roles within the organisation which are available.
