Specific Responsibilities:
  • CAD work to produce tooling and dies using Creo software
  • CAM machining setup work using Creo software
  • Machining operations as required including; CNC Mill and Lathe
  • Surface grinding
  • Spark erosion
  • General tool fitting adjustments and operations
  • Produce read and interpret) engineering drawings
  • Welding -Tig and Mig
  • Working within the ISO9001-2008 Quality Assurance management system
  • Liaising with various suppliers
  • Liaising with tool designers within HCL
  • Liaising with wire erosion companies
  • Working to defined time scales
  • Other associated tasks as required

General Responsibilities:
  • To support the Engineering Manager in identifying, promoting and developing cost effective machining methods
  • To communicate courteously and effectively with all relevant persons and bodies by the most appropriate means
  • To use sound engineering principles during tool design and manufacture
  • To report any complaints to the Engineering Manager

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • You must have already completed aLevel 3Engineering Technician apprenticeship
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Use of CAD software
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Personal qualities

  • An ability to work both independently and within a team to meet time-critical goals and targets as the role dictates
  • Aptitude to learn new techniques quickly and perform the required tasks accurately

Desired qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity you must have already completed aLevel 3Engineering Technician apprenticeship and hold5 GCSE grades A-C/8-4 or equivalent, including maths andEnglish.

Upon successfulcompletion of the apprenticeship a fulltime opportunity is available.
