Midwife -Band 5

We are seeking enthusiastic and keen Midwives to join our maternity unit.

The maternity service currently approximately 5,000 deliveries a year serving women living in the areas of Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Bexley and is currently in the process of exciting new developments including Continuity of Carer, MatNeo project, Maternity Apprenticeship programme.

The successful applicant will have a chance to enhance their normal midwifery skills, including water births and autonomous practice as well as developing additional skills such as perineal suturing, theatre scrubbing and cannulation.

Newly qualified midwives will follow a preceptor programme for 12 months and will rotate throughout the different clinical areas, which include the co-located Birthing Unit, Triage, antenatal/postnatal wards, Delivery suite, community setting as part of the continuity of carer teams.

All the posts are fixed term contracts for 12 months with potential opportunities to make permanent at a later date
