This is an ideal opportunity to learn within the work place; you will supported by a tutor to gain a Business and Administration qualification and if you have not already achieved Maths, English and ICT we will include Functional Skills Level 1 qualifications. The salary will be National Minimum Wage for Age, all placement and course fees will be paid for by the Trust over a fixed term contract for the duration of completion of the qualification; which will be a minimum of 15 months.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Cared for Children's team to provide administration support to Registered Nurses and Healthcare Professionals across Tameside & Glossop. The Cared for Children's service is a service that works in partnership with other agencies to ensure vulnerable children who are open to Tameside & Glossop services remain protected and safeguarded. As an Apprentice Clerical Officer working within the service, you would be required to support the multi-disciplinary team that comprises of registered nurses, health visitors, school nurses, and administration staff.

Applicants should be excellent communicators with good telephone skills and have a positive approach to customer care. General office duties such as filing, faxing and email management will be required within the role. The Cared for Children's office is a busy environment and the tasks you will be required to undertake will vary therefore no one day will be the same. It requires an enthusiastic, competent, hardworking and proactive person to work within the department. It also requires someone who is able to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner. In addition it is a necessity that applicants have a good standard of typing and IT skills and be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

Previous hospital or administration experience is not required. However to be considered you must not hold a degree or a level 4 equivalent qualification, or be in current education. You need to be over 16 years old and be a resident in the UK/EU for the past 3 years (as per funding regulations for apprenticeships).

Applicants must be eligible and willing to undertake an Apprenticeship and hold GCSE grades A-D in English Language, Maths and ICT or hold equivalent qualifications e.g. Functional Skills Entry 3 and above (an initial assessment will be completed before interviews to ascertain what Level you are currently work at).

The Apprentice post will be 37.5 hours and will be based at Ann Street Clinic in Denton. The successful candidate will be required to work 08.30am to 17.00pm, Monday to Friday.
