Due to a retirement, we are looking for an enthusiastic Healthcare Scientist Practitioner or Diagnostic radiographer.
**We will consider a training apprenticeship/interim appointment at a lower grade for candidates with transferrable skills & experience.**

You will join our small and friendly Clinical and Radiation Physics team based at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

You will work independently to undertake a wide range of duties to provide clinical scientific and technical services to our Clinical Imaging department, including community hospitals and private customers. This includes X-ray equipment testing (QA) on complex systems & provision of technical support.

If the lure of Cornwall's rugged coastline, magnificent beaches, rolling countryside, vast array of gourmet pubs and fine dining opportunities isn't enough, our Clinical Imaging service is rated "Outstanding" by CQC and offers some of the latest technology.

The Clinical Imaging service in CT equipment includes 2 Canon Aquilion One and a GE Revolution Evo, with a second Evo and a GE Revolution scanner soon to be installed. Our interventional service includes 2 Siemens Cath Labs, a Siemens Zeego and 2 Siemens Fluoroscopy units. The Cornwall Breast Screening service is in the process of installing 5 Siemens Revelation systems, including tomosynthesis and contrast enhanced mammography. Our Nuclear Medicine department is about to undergo major remodelling and installation of a new gamma camera to complement our existing 2 GE Discovery cameras.

As well as the three main RCH sites (Truro, St Michael's and West Cornwall) there are also 7 satellite sites across the county at Stratton, Bodmin, St Austell, Newquay, Falmouth and, last but by no means the least, the idyllic Isles of Scilly.

A major development at the front of the hospital is in progress to accommodate two new MRI scanners and the hospital's development plan over the next three years includes the building of a dedicated Women's and Children's wing.

Due to the geography of the beautiful countryside in Cornwall and the locations of our community hospitals, a full driving license is essential, surf board optional.
