All of our new starters benefit from a comprehensive induction programme and local orientation to their clinical area. Nurses who are new to Neurosciences will be supported by experienced mentors and have the opportunity to attend our established New to Neurology or new to Neurosurgery programmes. We also have a highly dedicated team of Clinical Practice Facilitators who will be there to support your learning every step of the way. Working at the National will enable you to work side by side with a truly multidisciplinary team who have highly specialised knowledge in their fields.

We are committed to supporting you through ward-based placements and Rotation programmes. We also have opportunities to study for a specialist nursing qualification with London South Bank University.

Virtual interviews via MS Teams will be conducted on 23rd June 2021. If you're successful at the interviews, you will be asked to attend the assessment centre on 24th June 2021, which will involve completing a drug calculations test, virtual reality clinical scenario-based assessment, and ID checks.

Once you have completed the assessment and scored highly enough, you will receive a certificate number. In order to start your application, you must copy and paste (do not type) your certificate number into your application form when requested.

The certificate covers all applications you make to UCLH for 6 months - you do not need to take the test for each job application you make. After 6 months you may complete the assessment again.

Please note that if you are at present in a training position on the 2016 new junior doctor's contract and are applying for a Trust doctor role your salary will not be pay protected.

You will be placed on the appropriate point of the Trust Doctor pay scale based on your previous experience.
