We maintain a spread of projects across all public and private sector markets from £500k to £500m and we currently employ over 90 people inseven offices across the UK and has delivered projects in a variety of countries worldwide.

Due to our continuing success and growth, we are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join and manage our Cost Management team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, where you will be working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy office based in central London

We can offer a variety of exciting projects in higher education, healthcare, local authority, commercial, retail, schools and public services sectors

As part of the role, you will be fully supported by our team and our QS Directors to learn and develop in the role, eventually becoming RICS qualified and becoming a Quantity Surveyor.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor role primarily consists of supporting Quantity Surveying team on all commercial and financial aspects of construction projects. The role involves working with Project Team to allow projects be delivered safely, on time and to budget whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Working at Fulkers you will be involved with projects varying in cost from £50k to £500m.

Your day-to-day work will include the following:
  • Assisting with measuring drawings
  • Assisting with producing cost plans
  • Supporting with project administration
  • Assisting with preparation of tender and contract documentation
  • Assisting with contract administration
  • Involvement with site visits and valuations of works
  • Assisting in general day to day project duties
  • Attending project meetings
  • Assisting with general office duties including benchmarking and collating documents

Desired qualifications

  • A Level BBB
  • BTEC National Diploma DDM
  • Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C (8-4) including maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)

Advanced entry:

For those holding a Level 4 qualification with specific grades, it may be possible to enter onto Level 5 of the course and 'top up' your existing qualification to a full degree:
  • BTEC HNC/HND in a Quantity Surveying/Building related subject
  • Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Quantity Surveying/Building related subject
  • Construction Surveying Technician Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship
  • Cognate Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment
