What will the apprentice be doing?
Policymaking means understanding and addressing problems, thinking creatively, and finding smart ways to handle big issues. We ask questions like, "is it fair that some people pay more than others for the same mobile phone deal?" and "what do we need to do to protect people online?"
Your job at Ofcom will involve working in a team to collect evidence, understand problems, and work on solutions to help make sure everyone can enjoy the benefits that technology can bring.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices who join this scheme undertake a two-year programme building up skills and experience in policymaking, alongside training for a Level 4 Policy Officer Apprenticeship qualification.
Personal development is important to us, so alongside formal training, our apprentices receive support and internal training to build skills and grow in their role. We also give apprentices the opportunity to work in different teams over their course.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of the apprenticeship we will support you in continuing your development and career at Ofcom.
