Project management is considered a key discipline within Heraeus Noblelight; acting as a point of central organisation to all project activities.
You will apply your personality, skills and knowledge alongside established processes and methods to achieve specific project objectives leading and coordination teams of internal and external specialists to meet project targets within set quality, timescale and cost criteria.
The project support apprentice will actively support the day-to-day project management activities within the organisation, including:
You will report to one of Heraeus Noblelight's Project Managers.
As per the nature of the role, however, you will have frequent interaction with many different teams and personnel within and external to the organisation (e.g. customers, suppliers, designers, laboratory technicians, build/manufacturing operators, sales, customer service, planning and purchasing).

In your role of Project Support Apprentice with a view to progressing to Project Manager, your project management skill set can be adopted and applied in varying, very different public and industrial sectors including Government / Local authority , Engineering, Construction, IT/Software Services, Media or Agriculture. Therefore, as a project manager you are set for a career for life. Given project management by its nature and that each project can be very different in its demands and there may be occasions when:

The project support apprentice will actively support the day-to-day project management activities within the organisation, including:
- Interacting with and supporting the project team re: project task progress
- Managing project records, including project issue and risk capture
- Planning project schedules re: required timings
- Compiling project reports re: progress, project spend and timescales
- Organising, leading and taking notes/actions from project meetings
- Controlling project correspondence

Therefore, as a project manager you are set for a career for life. Given project management by its nature and that each project can be very different in its demands and there may be occasions when:
- You will handle challenging situations; alongside the team, as project issues present / need resolution
- Extended hours are required to ensure deadlines are met. - You will travel e.g. to engage with customers, suppliers, support off-site deliverables etc
- Role instability as one project concludes, and others start
- The wage will be between £220 - £290 dependent on experience and previous qualifications
