Yourresponsibilitiesas an IT Apprentice will include:
  • Identifying, collecting, and migrating data
  • Interpreting data and conducting statistical analysis
  • Involvement in Data Mining and producing dashboards
  • Using tools and techniques for data visualisation
  • Presenting results to stakeholders
  • Expanding your knowledge of data protection and legal issues
  • Public, administrative, and research data
  • Learning the fundamentals of data structures

Qualifications you will receive (varies with the employer's projects)
  • Data Analyst Level 4 (awarded by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education)
  • Data Analysis Tools
  • Data Analysis Concepts


Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Good all-round IT Skills
  • Knowledge of Illustrator, PowerPoint, Excel
  • A basic understanding of coding would be good but not essential


Personal qualities

  • An effective and enthusiastic communicator
  • Team spirit and willingness to work with everyone in our valued and diverse team
  • Commitment to a 15-18 month apprenticeship


Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs A-C/9-4 including English and maths


Future prospects

Upon successful completion of the Data AnalystLevel 4Apprenticeship, further progression opportunities are available:
  • Promotion in the workplace, or a movement into a managerial role
  • Study at a higher level of apprenticeship (dependent on occupation)
  • Enrolling in a degree (full or part-time) or even a degree apprenticeship
  • Continuing in the role, but undertaking additional, related qualifications to further development
