AtTheDyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, you're an engineer from day one. Tough projects. Real responsibilities.

You'll learn about engineering through practical experience and work alongside a team of Dyson Technology experts three days of the week. The rest of the week will be dedicated tostudying towards your BEng (Hons) Engineering degree.

InYears1and2, you'll complete engineering rotations focusing on mechanical, electrical and electronic, software and New Product Innovation (NPI). Thesewill help to consolidate your understanding of engineering fundamentals in practice.

In Years 3 and 4, you'll have the opportunity to state your preferred pathway. Dyson will place you in a team depending on your preferences, skills and the business needs.

With Dyson's expertise across motors, fluid dynamics, separation systems, energy storage, robotics, software and hair science, you'll have the chance to work withina number oftechnical disciplines. During the programme, you may also get the opportunity to work in our Bristol software huband our technology and design centres in Singapore and Malaysia.

For the work-based element of the programme, you will work to theLevel 6Product Design and Development Engineer(degree)apprenticeship standard.

Personal qualities

Being an Undergraduate at The Dyson Institute is academically, personally and professionally demanding. To be selected for the programme, we require you to be academically strong and able to demonstrate that you can cope with the professional demands that come with being in a workplace alongside studying.

Desired qualifications

A Level (or equivalent) - AAB including AA in mathematics and a STEM subject.

All applicants to The Dyson Institute must hold the right to both study andwork full-timein the UK.

Future prospects

If you receive a grade of 2.1 (upper second class) or above in your degree, you will be offered a full-time position at Dyson.

With a BEng (Hons) Engineering degree and Level 6 Product Design and Development engineer (degree) apprenticeship standard, you are also able to apply other roles of your choosing.

Things to consider

As a fully integrated programme, all teaching and work rotations take place on the Dyson Campus. As a first year, you'll also live on-site in Dyson Village's modern accommodation and facilities including bar/restaurant and gym. You'll also enjoy a unique student experience, alongside a close-knit cohort, while simultaneously being part of a 4,000-strong Dyson community on campus.
