The Apprentice will:

Assist the Estates Director and Land Agents to maximise income and drive growth across the portfolio (working within constraints)
  • Undertake research into alternative land uses
  • Research rental and sales comparables
  • Search for properties on the market

Assist Land Agents with the day to day property management of the rural portfolio:
  • Work with drawing office to produce plans
  • With support from land agents arrange for quotes from approved contractors, request RAMS, meet contractors at properties and to inspect works
  • Assist with marketing of properties and negotiation of new/renewal agricultural, residential and rural commercial lettings
  • Conducting (with assistance) rent reviews
  • Undertake and report boundary surveys, management and health and safety inspections
  • Identify, react to and deal with trespass on land (with assistance), liaising with councils, police and third parties to remedy issues
  • Assist team and credit control to manage rental arrears
  • Assist with Highways and Village Green declarations for managed areas
  • Assist with wayleave/easement negotiations and compiling claims

Desired skills

  • Basic agricultural knowledge
  • Basic understanding and awareness of the property market and drivers of value
  • Car driver with full driving license due to the nature of the role
  • Ability to communicate and build strong relationships at all levels
  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritise

Desired qualifications

Entry requirements are as follows:
  • English and maths GCSE (grades A*-C or 9-4 or equivalent)
  • 3 A levels - grades C/4, equivalent or above
  • An apprenticeship in a construction or property related discipline - any experience will be considered
  • BTEC DMM or higher
  • Mature applicants with experience will beconsidered on a case by case basis

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week)
