An exciting opportunity has arisen: Undertake an Apprenticeship in Customer Service/Business Administration within Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. This course provides excellent opportunities for personal and professional development and real-life business experience - this includes ongoing support from our team.

Below is a brief outline of a range of tasks you could be expected to carry out:
  • Taking phone calls from clients
  • Meet and greet at reception
  • Ensuring reception/waiting area is kept tidy and clean
  • General secretarial duties i.e. copy typing, arranging appointments and diaries
  • Maintaining staff telephone contact list
  • Manage stationary
  • Sort post - incoming/outgoing
  • Manage email inbox
  • Data input
  • Organising files
  • Report writing
  • Printing

Apprenticeships include on-the-job training (80%) (time spent within the workplace to develop skills) and off-the-job training (20%) (working with a trainer to gain a technical qualification and gaining Functional Skills (if required)).

The qualifications include:
  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner or Level 3 Business Administration
  • Functional Skills (Maths and/or English) (Level 2).

All of the training will be carried out on site or online and won't require any travelling outside of the Trust.

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust have developed career pathways in a range of areas, all of which either start with an Apprenticeship or include Apprenticeship training as part of professional development. All of our clinical posts (and certain others), are subject to DBS clearance prior to commencement.
