Start Date
Reporting to the Digital Operations Manager, you will work in partnership with colleagues and third parties to adopt best practice and innovate our use of digital systems to increase productivity, efficiency, and resilience. You will be a point of contact for IT Support, acting as a liaison between the team and our external support agencies. You will also help to ensure the ongoing security and maintenance of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with the implementation, management, and procedure creation for new digital systems
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of training on new and existing systems, and on digital best practice
  • Work with the Digital Operations Manager and our Support Agencies to minimise our risks
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to our IT infrastructure
  • Follow established procedures to monitor and maintain infrastructure and end-user devices
  • Provide advice and guidance on cyber security, data protection, and technology use

Desired qualifications

A levels (level 3) 112 Ucas points ( B,B,C grades ) or Btec level 3 extended diploma in computer science ( D,M,M) or a level 3 apprenticeship in IT related occupation.

Plus GCSE qualifications (Level 2) in English and Maths - A*-C or 9-4. Before taking their end-point assessment, allapprentices on apprenticeships at level 3 and above must achieve Level 2 English and maths. Apprentices with these qualifications may complete them at the university while on the apprenticeship.

Applicants with no formal qualifications will also be considered on an individual basis.

Future prospects

The possibility of a full-time post upon completing the apprenticeship.

The role may require occasional:
  • 'Out of hours' work (Time off in lieu will be offered for this)
  • Travel to other sites / offices
  • Lifting and moving of IT equipment (training and assistance provided)
