Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the posts of Junior Clinical Fellow (CT/SHO Grade) in Adult Intensive Care Medicine at LRI UHL.

These posts are suitable for doctors in between Foundation and Core training who have:
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Certificate of Completion of Foundation training or provides a reasonable assurance of completion by August, 2020.
  • Be an ALS provider

The successful candidates will work as an integral member of the AICU team at UHL. On-call activity includes working within an integrated AICU team, led by a dedicated critical care consultant, delivering high quality day to day patient care. Assessment and management of patients on the AICU as well as those referred from the medical and surgical wards, including a busy medical emergency department is a large part of the work. The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved with multi-disciplinary meetings such as microbiology, pharmacy, acute pain and nutrition ward rounds. .

The appointee will be encouraged to attend Novice Anaesthesia teaching held at the LRI as well as attend local ICM teaching and journal clubs. There will be opportunities to supervise more junior doctors and medical students.

Fixed Term contract is for 6 month extendable by mutual agreement to 12months.

As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced police criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
