Pre Registration Pharmacy Technician - Band 4 (Annex U)- Pharmacy - 37.5 hours per week - 2 Years Fixed Term Contract

(Pre-registration Trainee) Pharmacy Technician Apprentice - Year 1- 70% Band 4 and Year 2- 75% Band 4

Pharmacy technicians are vital members of the pharmacy team and play an important role in the day to day management of medicines for all patients in today's NHS.
As a Pre-registration Trainee pharmacy technician we will give you the support and training that you need to become part of that team.

This is a very exciting opportunity for committed and enthusiastic individuals that want to progress within the Hospital Pharmacy Sector for the initial education and training of pharmacy technicians and the New Higher Education Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Practice run by the University of East Anglia.

This is a full-time fixed term contract for 2 years. You will be expected to complete an online portfolio. You will have online teaching sessions and assessments, Teaching Forums, and an End Point assessment. You will be supported by an educational supervisor within the workplace and a tutor at UEA.

We will expect you to undertake work at home to supplement the in-house study time and training sessions provided.

Successful completion of the whole training programme will enable the student to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Minimum entry requirements for this post are 4 GCSEs at grade C/Level 4 or above (or equivalent) to include Mathematics, English, a Science and one other, and subject to funding requirements for an apprenticeship.

You must be available for all the Network study days set by the UEA.

You must be able to start with us on the 1st September and be able to attend the induction days on the 8th and 14th September

The successful candidate for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure at Enhanced level.

For Band 1 and Band 2 posts, the cost of the DBS Disclosure will be met by the Trust. However, any employees at Band 1 and Band 2 who leave the Trust within six months of commencing their post will have a £10 administration fee deducted from their final salary. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
