Start Date
Providing support and guidance to the production teams in the production of high-quality steel grades. You will demonstrate the ability to develop clean steel practices and process improvements.
  • To always work in a safe manner and challenge others when unsafe behaviour is observed.
  • Flexible in maintaining plant presence during production of high integrity products
  • Issue technical instructions to accompany all steel orders
  • Review customer specifications
  • Assist the sales and accounts teams to cost process routes
  • Review and compose new standard process instructions
  • Monitor quality performance within the melt shop
  • Monitor customer process data with respect to customer complaints
  • Liaise with RD26 with respect to customer complaints
  • Initiate continuous improvements
  • Works closely with the quality manger in monitoring supplier materials, supplier performance and process development.
  • Liaises with production and maintenance teams in monitoring plant efficiencies and performance.
  • Develop the steelmaking process to meet customer specifications

Desired qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) mathematics and English language at grade C or grade 4, or above - plus one of the following
  • 112 UCAS points including at least 64 points from two A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications, including mathematics or a mathematics-based subject to at least AS level

For example:
  • BBC at A Level including mathematics or a mathematics-based subject plus at least one other from physics, physical science, engineering science, computer science, technology, chemistry or other science or technology subject
  • DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma in a science or technology-based subject (including passes in mathematics and two other science or technology-based modules)

  • A combination of qualifications which must include mathematics or a mathematics-based subject and may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies GCSE
  • We may also consider applicants with relevant work experience

Salary progression:
  • Year 1: £11,000
  • Year 2: £13,000
  • Year 3: £16,500
  • Year 4:£19,000
