Birmingham and Solihull has been one of the hardest hit areas in the country, and Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on lives, health and the economy. The UK Government and its medical and scientific advisors have been clear that the only safe and sustainable way out of the Covid-19 pandemic is through a vaccination programme.

We already deliver the vaccine from Millennium Point, Edgbaston Cricket Ground and Aston Villa Football Ground and you could be working across multiple sites and in new ways - for example in mobile units or mass vaccination venues - to ensure that everyone gets the protection they need against COVID-19, so you'll need to be compassionate, responsive and flexible.

A surge in bookings has seen over 65,000 people take up the opportunity to be vaccinated within the next 8 - 10 weeks!

This, in addition to the work we are doing in supporting the GP surgeries, and the efforts we are making to support local communities with our mobile vaccination vehicles, means we need staff to cover the available shifts that we have.

The vaccinator role is physically demanding as you will be standing, stooping and twisting for significant periods of your shifts.

NB: If you have already responded to our previous requests for help and support with the vaccination programme there is no need for you to apply again as we are currently getting in touch with everyone who kindly offered their help and support.

All posts involving access to persons in receipt of health services will be subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us; this will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances of your offences.

Staff recruited from outside of the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

Successful candidates will be automatically enrolled onto the Trust staff bank UHB+.
