XView builds bespoke software solutions for businesses of all shapes and sizes. From the likes of AstraZeneca to small independent schools. The successful applicant(s) will be able to work on a broad variety of projects utilising their problem-solving skills and delivering real world benefits to clients, saving them time and money.

We're looking for Javascript developers to work directly with our Service Delivery Team and end clients to deliver tailor the XView application to each clients requirements.

Being a young business, this is an exciting opportunity to play a large role in shaping the future of XView and potentially becoming a crucial member of the team in the longer term. We're after developers that don't just follow the spec, but question it, and seek to improve the companies output at every opportunity.

The leadership team has a wealth of experience in both business, and software development. Willing employees will receive all the support they need to grow and become a highly valuable business software architect.

Duties will include:
  • To work with our service delivery team and occasionally directly with clients to deliver custom software solutions to a broad range of businesses
  • To solve problems and find efficient solutions to client reported issues and change requests
  • To manage Postgres databases, ensuring data efficiency and integrity at all times
  • To write SQL database queries, being mindful of performance
  • To manage client configurations stored as JSON objects
  • To write bespoke JavaScript functions that enable client systems to function; these include, validation, data manipulation and connections to 3rd party applications and APIs
  • To create secure, tailored API end-points
  • To use Git to manage code changes and collaborate with other team members
  • To participate in daily stand-up calls and have a strong voice within the software development team

Required:
  • Strong communication
  • Work as part of a team developing applications and services using Agile development methods
  • Contribute to team and organisational improvements in process and infrastructure
  • Code, test and operate Node.JS based services
  • Effectively use tools and ingenuity to identify and fix defects before they become a problem
  • Ability to interpret and understand requirements as documented by our service delivery team
  • Apply 'real-world' logic and common sense to documented requirements
  • Desire to think outside the box, suggest improvements and be constructive

Useful:
  • Competent understanding of HTTP and RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimisation techniques
  • ExpressJS
  • KnexJS (Primarily postgres)
  • ReactJS
  • Git and general source code management
  • Heroku


Personal qualities

  • Personable and able to work independently
  • Highly organised with a well-planned
  • Methodical approach


Desired qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs A* - C (9-4) including English, maths and a technology subject
  • 2 A Levels (A2) one in a STEM subject or an IT Apprenticeship at Level 3


Future prospects

  • Permanent developer or senior developer role
