Location: Harrogate
Salary: GBP20k - 25k per year
Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5:30pm

Job Purpose
Taking ownership of the Product Management of a set vendors/categories - this will include managing pricing, life-cycles, product portfolio's, Vendor relationships, ageing stock and understanding and executing the supported pricing process.

Key to this is understanding how the various business systems work to allow sales enablement.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Supporting the sales team with technical, commercial and market advice
Working in the team to identify new vendor acquisition opportunities
Understanding and usage of the systems which they operate within, including SAP, QVW & CRM
Manage client and vendor relationships
Take control of the product portfolio and understand the Product creation templates, via the use of winshuttle
Take ownership for the loading up of Vendor-funded rebates in advance of the previous support dropping off
Co-ordinate with sales on Deal Registrations, Special bids and the process of getting these loaded on the system to maximise profit margins
Understanding of how each Vendor works and the various mechanisms to get the relevant support loaded on SAP and how this is reflected on customer feeds
Understanding the process and reasoning behind aged stock and working towards keeping in line with company expectations and quarterly targets
Work to deadlines including prioritising your workload
Maintain a smart and professional appearance at all times
Maintain product roadmaps, Vendor pricelists and the introduction of new products and EOLs on the system
Work alongside Sales Managers on buy-in deals - ensuring a "deal" per category in your area of responsibility
Review QVW budgets to ensure Budgets are achievable and measurable
Monitoring exchange rates and deciding when to buy currency to maximise profit in your area
Understand the process of setting up new vendors on the various systems and how to direct this
Weekly Meeting with the Commercial Manager to up-date on numbers - Revenue, margin and aged stock portfolio
Up-dates on how the products are performing vs targets and expectations of the business
Participate in QBR's (Quarterly Business Reviews) to understand the importance of Vendor relationships
Business Planning

Understand the importance of, and execute, a quarterly business plan for each Vendor including launching sales incentives, volume buy in deals and targeting specific accounts in line with vendor plans
Ensure pricing is in line with the competition and market conditions and is feeding out correctly
Work alongside the Commercial Team to understand how the department operates and the importance of pricing strategies and Vendor support
Advise Commercial Manager accordingly to any situations that threaten to prevent the quarterly goals/targets being achievedMarket knowledge

Constantly improve knowledge and understanding of the markets which they operate in for the product category(s), using that knowledge to train and empower the sales teams
Coordinating stock incoming for new product launches with marketing and the sales teams to arrange pre order sales with customers before the competition
Liaising with internal marketing to ensure the marketing plans are relevant to the vendors in each sector and ensuring the plans have an ROI for us and the vendor
Identify market trends & outlooks to provide confidence for making strategic business decisions
Identify potential product, technologies or brands that would complement the current range and add value to the Vendor portfolioCommercials

Assist in loading up customer-specific pricing and how it works within SAP
Implement strategies alongside Commercial team to increase sales and help sales with products listings with key customers
Influence the buying decision within the channel partners and end-users as well as negotiating best prices with our vendors
Ability to set pricing strategies on SAP and maximising profit where possible
