St. Modwen Logistics develops and manages urban and big box warehouses for customers including global logistics and e-commerce organisations as well as significant national and regional enterprises. Aiming to deliver c. 1.5m sq ft of new warehouse space during 2021 and, with one of the UK's largest pipelines at c. 19m sq ft, they have an achievable vision to grow the logistics portfolio to over GBP1bn by 2023.

The Purpose

Our Graduate Development Surveyor will play a pivotal role, supporting with the identification of development opportunities and managing the development of individual phases in line with business unit strategy.

The Person

We are looking for a driven and task focused individual, someone who isn't scared to think out of the box and really get stuck in!

Once in role, you'll assist with the implementation of the logistics business unit strategy for the acquisition, development and leasing schemes to the Investment Portfolio.

You'll identify new development opportunities in line with the logistics business unit strategy, including coordination with the Planning team on planning-led site searches and use of land sourcing software such as LandInsight - having experience of this would be a great (if not we can show you the ropes)

Key Accountabilities

To support in the management of development of site(s) (or phase) to the agreed programme and business plan. This will include, but not be limited to supporting:
Working alongside Planning to liaise with external bodies to achieve planning permission
Generation of development briefs
Instigating, reviewing and challenging design proposals, delivering compliance with business case and brief
Liaison with Construction team and monitoring of construction processes, checking for compliance with business case
Co-ordination of marketing and leasing of a scheme
Negotiation of commercial terms and driving the legal process in both land acquisition and lease agreements
Undertaking data analysis on the logistics sector and wider market to support business investment decisions
Assisting in the preparation of appraisals and bid documents for development opportunities and acquisitions
Assisting in the preparation and presentation of investment committee papers to secure approval for acquisitions and project expenditure
Building and maintaining effective relationships with key regional stakeholders including agents, landowners, customers, local authorities, and consultants
Understanding and supporting the appraisals, valuations, budgets and cash flow processes in line with business authorisation levels and in partnership with Finance
Working collaboratively with multi-disciplined internal and external project team member
Developing and ensuring safe working practices
Required Experience & Skills

Proven experience operating within the industrial and logistics sector with a developer or agent.
RICS accredited degree and willing to work towards APC qualification
Driving Licence due to site travel when required
