The Role

Mechanical Electrical Craft Apprentice (Mining) - British Gypsum - Barrow-Upon-Soar

We are inviting applications from individuals who are interested in a mechanical craft apprenticeship!

This opportunity is working with British Gypsum, part of the Saint-Gobain group, at our production and mining site in Barrow-Upon-Soar

The role purpose is to develop Engineering craft in the correct use of tools, techniques & methodology of mine electrical engineering and maintenance under the supervision of a qualified craftsman / instructor and consistent with the apprenticeship year level. Attend offsite academic learning and assessment to meet the requirements for the electrical trade apprenticeship

The role accountability's are:

Clear on the behaviours, standards and procedures relating to safe working
Keeps others safe and reports all incidents and near misses Acts with Autonomy in line with the company safety culture
Adopts a brother's keeper mentality as a core value
Aware of Environmental impacts relative to their role
Supports all activity linked to the mine engineering strategy that's supports the mine future visions
Getting involved, bringing passion and excitement, engaged in delivering operational excellence
Complete the college work on schedule
Develop a good understanding of root cause analysis
Work to excellent professional maintenance standardsWe need someone who:

Demonstrates a good safety attitude
Is friendly & courteous with all others
Has a 'can do' approach to working and problem solving
Has a practical & logical mind
Eager to train and learn new skills & knowledge
Is diligent and punctual
Is a team player
Adapts to underground environment
Has good levels of GCSE's in Maths, English and Craft & Science (general)About us
