The successful candidates will be joining our growing business and will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects while studying for a degree in quantity surveying with the University College of Estate Management.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for the successful candidates will include:
  • Supporting the delivery of building surveying duties including but not limited to assisting with site inspections and reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of project design / specification and tender documentation
  • Attending project/client meetings and assisting with taking meeting notes
  • Supporting the contract administration of construction projects including supporting the production of reports, tender / financial reviews and the production of contract documentation and certificates
  • Undertaking site progress inspections

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • A minimum of three A levels, or the equivalent to 96 UCAS tariff points
  • GSCEs (or equivalent) in maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Aptitude to learn and have a strong desire to become a chartered quantity surveyor in the future
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
  • Proactive in your approach to learning and working at the same time

Desired qualifications

For standard entry applicants, must have obtained 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or have an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications not included in the UCAS Tariff

Or,

Have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical through which a Construction and Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained, or an equivalent qualification

Or,

Have a current RICS Associate qualification (AssocRICS)

And,

Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England.

*Recognised qualifications having an equivalent level of attainment as those recognised by UCAS include: Higher National Certificate (HNC), Higher National Diploma (HND), professional qualifications from recognised institutions, certain armed forces qualifications and partially completed degrees.

Future prospects

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, successful candidates will begin working towards becoming a chartered surveyor with the opportunity to work on exciting projects.
