About the apprenticeship


During your three-year fixed term employment contract, you will develop specific personal and professional financial and auditing skills and expertise for future roles. You will develop on the job skills working within different teams, including our Finance teams, as well as supporting the external audit of a number of different public sector bodies, such as councils, NHS bodies, Police and Fire services etc. Whilst also learning through paid day release to study for the highly recognisable Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) financial qualification. You will be encouraged and supported throughout your apprenticeship to manage your own personal development through learning logs and progress reviews and your professional training programme will be supplemented with skills development workshops, and a mentor and buddy who will help with your personal development and growth. It is expected that the level of responsibility and degree of difficulty/complexity of the work required from you will increase over the duration of the scheme.
In addition to this, you will have
• Working as part of a supportive team, you will be involved in the external audit of a range of Welsh public sector bodies, including local government, NHS bodies and the Welsh Government and its related organisations.
• You will also train to achieve a recognised apprenticeship qualification, working through the highly respected AAT from level 2 to level 4 award.

13 Ability to develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships
14 Good interpersonal skills - able to develop and effectively work with others at all levels


1.1 Three A Levels at a min C grade or above or equivalent qualification
1.2 Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A*-C), including Maths (B)
