What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a rare opportunity for an independent and self-motivated individual to join the Environmental Health Service at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council as a regulatory compliance apprentice.

The role is predominantly focussed on regulatory compliance duties within the service, this will include the investigation of nuisance complaints e.g. barking dogs and public health complaints e.g. waste accumulations; but the role also specialises in animal control and licensing to include collection of stray dogs and pest control.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The Apprentice will be expected to be eligible to complete the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship, attendance at workshops, workplace support and experience will be provided to meet the course requirements.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the apprenticeship If there are no appropriate vacancies within the council, you will be given guidance and support to identify and apply for positions in external organisations.

Apprentices will be supported to apply for future roles in the council, subject to availability.
