Start Date
  • Work towards completing the Internal Audit Apprentice programme, successfully gaining two IIA qualifications: The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Certificate in Internal Audit and Business Risk and the Internal Audit Practitioner
  • Receive regular supervision from your line manager, as well as guidance and support from your assessor and receive the training you will need to achieve your apprenticeship.
  • Be given time within your contracted hours to learn and complete apprenticeship work set by your line manager or trainer. This will enable you to meet the agreed targets and milestones, set out in your apprenticeship development plan and enable you to complete the qualification in suitable time
  • Work under the instruction of the Director Audit and Assurance to assist in the delivery of the Annual Internal Audit Plan
  • Work under the instruction of the Director Audit and Assurance and Senior Internal Auditor to ensure the activities of the United Kingdom Territory are audited in accordance with current Internal Audit Standards and practices
  • Provide practical support to the Senior Auditor and Auditors in carrying out audit assignments, including administration, analysis of data and audit delivery of desk-based and on-site audit reviews
  • Produce and maintain professional audit working papers and files in accordance with set standards and ensure that all appropriate matters are fully reported and evidenced
  • Work under the instruction of the Senior Internal Auditor to meet with personnel across the organisation to discuss findings and encourage engagement with actions to address the identified concerns
  • Carry out all work with professionalism and with sensitivity
  • Carry out other duties as required by the Director Audit and Assurance and Senior Internal Auditor, including departmental administration and attendance at meetings and work on special projects, as required
  • Be prepared to travel within the United Kingdom and Ireland Territory to complete audit assignments. It is expected that this position may include travel up to 25% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE C/4 or above for maths and English
  • GCE A-Levels or equivalent

Future prospects

Possibility of permanent position as an Internal Auditor upon completion of the course.
