As a Bank Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be working at Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View, a medium and low secure and locked services providing specialist treatment programmes for service users who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and have a history of offending behaviour.

Working within the Occupational Therapy department, you will assist in assessing, planning, implementing & evaluating the social and recreational needs of service users and develop a range of structured activities to support their individual care plans.

To support service users achieve their identified goals, you will be heavily involved in developing social and recreational activities, this includes creating effective therapeutic relationships, daily living activities, and out of hours working.

Other responsibilities:
  • Positively promote rehabilitation towards independent living
  • Contribute to the development of the Integrated Groupwork Programme
  • Develop good working relationships with other organisations, including Vocational Specialists, User Employment Co-ordinator, QEST, colleges, training providers and voluntary agencies

To be successful in this role:
  • GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
  • A creative and imaginative approach to problem-solving
  • Practical skills to assist daily living and promoting independence
