Every day, on average, we see 500 patients in A&E; 15 babies are born in our maternity unit; about 450 inpatients are cared for on our wards; about 50 patients have major or minor surgery in one of our 10 operating theatres; and about 800 people attend our outpatients clinics.

Apprentice Business Administration Officer

Band 2

The opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Band 2 Business Administration Officer within the Academic Office of the Medical Education Department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. Working in the Academic Office, the successful candidate will have a real opportunity to assist in the delivery of providing educational and customer service support to medical students and trainee doctors at the Trust.

The successful candidate will have a good level of business administration skills as well as proven knowledge of IT in Word, Excel and PowerPoint although training will be provided.

Main responsibilities include providing a friendly receptionist service to our users over a multi-platform approach of assisting with face to face, telephone and email queries. Promoting medical educational events on the Trust's Intranet, Eventbrite, creating posters and updating the departmental notice boards weekly.
The role will include providing a friendly welcome to staff who have booked the Educational Rooms and ensuring that the rooms are ready for use and assisting with Window's Team technical issues as well as the general housekeeping of the rooms.
The role will assist in administrative support to the Team who manage both Undergraduate students and Postgraduate doctors in training.
This will include updating email distribution lists and monitoring the generic departmental email inbox accounts.

Previous experience is not necessary, however ability to communicate affectively, to maintain a professional approach and data confidentiality and adaptability to take on new tasks is essential and all candidates must meet the criteria laid out within the person specification included in the job description.

This Apprenticeship position has an attached learning programme linked to the role. Doing the programme is a compulsory part of the position as the successful apprentice candidate will be required to complete a Business Administration Level 2 qualification (over 15-months) through our training provider.
