An exciting opportunity has arisen for a developing pharmacy technician to join an expanding pharmacy aseptic services team to deliver parenteral products to the patients and staff at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a progression post, initially working as a pharmacy technician (band 4), whilst completing the relevant training to become a competent aseptic services technician with accuracy checking qualification, once full competencies have been achieved the post holder will be automatically promoted to a band 5 technician. The post holder will have a maximum of 36 months from the date of employment to complete this training, support and guidance will be provided

You will be a key member of the aseptic services team, learning skill in the preparation of chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition and other extemporaneous products. Service users include: haematology, oncology, dietetics, neonatal, pain management and surgery. This is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of GMP, the principles of Quality Assurance and Quality Control to become an expert within aseptic services. For those wanting to further enhance their career, there may be opportunities within this post to additionally develop your leadership and management skills.

The suitable candidate will need to have a breadth of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting, with the proven ability to perform as a team player.

Applicants must be a Pharmacy Technician, registered with GPhC.

The successful candidates will work full time hours 8.30am-5pm Monday - Friday. They will also be included in the "availability rota" for out of hours work as well as helping with the provision of Bank Holiday cover
