The role

Spring Howdon Nursery is based within Howdon Children's centre in Wallsend There are 3 large playrooms for children aged from birth to 5 years, all with direct access to large outdoor play areas/gardens, offering everyday outdoor play experiences, in all weathers! In addition, they have use of small multi-sensory room and library, parents quiet area, and access to the children's centre where parents can contact health care professionals if needed, and also information and guidance around the local amenities and community-based projects, and initiatives supporting local families.

We have a large and supportive team who will help you every step of the way to achieve your qualification and starting your career with Spring.

At Spring we are passionate about your career, our Apprentices have progressed to Early Years Assistants once they complete their qualification and are now taking the next step to becoming Practitioner's with us. You will have a Mentor as well as your learning provider Assessor to work with you throughout your training and on to the next steps. Its exciting stuff, are you ready to join?

You will make a difference by:

-Working alongside nursery practitioners in supporting children's development, participating, planning and setting up activities for a range of children

-Developing successful relationships with children and their families

-Observing and track children's development and share this with parent/carers and other professionals

-Supporting children during mealtimes and toilet training

-Attending monthly staff meetings and 6 monthly parents/carers evenings

-Completing an apprenticeship to gain your childcare qualification, working within the setting to support the completion of your coursework and studies.

You will need:

-A genuine interest in childcare & a true passion and love for children.

-Patience, a friendly manner, and the ability to communicate with children, young people, colleagues and other adults such as parents and carers.

-A commitment to study time to help you achieve your qualification.
