Working alongside other members of the Engineering team to develop new and bespoke hardware and software solutions you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle on several exciting projects. The role involves continuous development of our existing .Net WPF applications as well as contributing to our ongoing technology road map and greenfield development in microservices and .net core. Must have: • Good problem-solving ability • Working in a positive, efficient, and safe manner • Willingness to learn and develop. • Basic I.T. & networking skills Nice to have: • Experience writing code in C#, C++ or Java • Understanding of industrial automation • Understanding of electrical principles. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Working alongside other members of the software team during the development of the company's industry-leading Automated Test Management Software product (C# and .NET framework). The apprentice would initially work as part of the test team. This will involve running manual tests on our software and reporting any issues discovered as well as assisting in writing integration and unit tests. As internal projects arise they will assist in the design, development and test of in house applications and as their programming skill increase will move on to bug fixing and application development in customer-facing systems

A Level and/or Level 3 qualification in Computing.

Must enjoy solving problems.

Entry requirement is dependent on the employer, but usually will require GCSEs at Grade C or higher.

Future prospects

MK would look to support someone through to a Level 6 Apprenticeship and have a structure to support someone to becoming a principle engineer.

Things to consider

Initial work will be office based but towards the end of the apprenticeship and as the person becomes experienced, we would anticipate them joining other engineers to visit customer sites around the world to assist in system setup and debugging. This would be short 1 - 5 days visit once or twice a year at the companies expense.
