The successful candidate will workin the sales department with main responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  • Coordinating all aspects of customer service including receiving phoned and emailedorders, order processing, quotation generation and technical enquiries, outgoing sales activity
  • Processing customer orders in a timely and accurate manner including clarification and order entry
  • As required liaising with the internal despatch team both pre and post shipment to ensure we are capable of meeting the delivery requirements of the customer
  • Placing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers to ensure delivery times are met
  • Work closely with our external sales team including customer visitswhen able
  • Answer, with assistance from the internal technical sales where necessary, all enquiries of a technical nature
  • Helping to produce promotional literature for the sales team
  • Maintaining, updating and expanding our use of CRM system
  • Organising Blitz campaigns to target areas for potential growth and visiting customers along with the rest of the sales team

Also spending time working with other departments to get a feel for the company and help to understand the needs and requirements of our customer base:
  • Service department -learning how webuild and weld testing new machine packages, to increase knowledge and understanding
  • Warehouse - understanding the picking and packing of orders, serving on the trade counter, to understand customer service and supporting withemergency local deliveries
  • Field based team - spending time with our external sales engineers visiting customers and learning industry processes and applications
  • Accounts - learning about how the purchase ledger and sales ledger teamwork

  • Excellent people skills and a motivated, proactive approach
  • High level of drive to set the highest possible customers service levels
  • Working knowledge of Sage, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferable
  • To be flexible and a team player

Desired qualifications

Preferred maths and English to C/4 or above or equivalent.
