Key tasks:
  • Build our brand across all existing social media platforms, attract and engage with new followers who could potentially become customers
  • Develop our digital advertising campaigns via Google AdWords, including tracking and continuous improvement to optimise campaign performance to give ROI
  • Work with our web development team to ensure our site is optimised (SEO) to attract the right customers
  • Liaise closely with our Sales team to develop campaigns to support their objectives, and to ensure leads are handed over effectively and efficiently
  • Work closely with our communications team to develop non-digital marketing assets (branded collateral and printed material). Training and support are available for this
  • When not performing core functions, work with the team to support all operations as needed

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Fully conversant with social media management across (at least) LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Good understanding and ideally an experience of running advertising campaigns using Keyword Planner on Google AdWords
  • Experience of WordPress CMS, including SEO optimisation tools
  • Commercial understanding of the importance of lead generation from the right target audience (as opposed to just growing followers)
  • Wider understanding of offline marketing activity (events, merchandise, literature etc)
  • Ability to write compelling, accurate copy for marketing activity

Personal qualities

  • Ability to respond quickly to opportunities presented by third party activity (eg hopping on a 'Cuthbert' campaign)
  • Ability to 'muck in' as part of a friendly, fast-growing team with an 'all hands-on deck' approach

Desired qualifications

Must haves:
  • Achieved grade C or above in at least five GCSEs, and at least two A-levels passes or any equivalent Level 3 qualifications, or
  • A Level 3 Apprenticeship, or

A minimum of 2 year work experience and/or a relevant professional qualifications at an appropriate level. This will be taken into consideration where you have the judged potential to benefit from the programme, allowing for contextualized applications. Specific roles that are acceptable are:
  • Digital and Marketing Analyst
  • Digital Marketing Executive
  • Digital Marketing Campaign Manager
  • Social Media Specialist
  • Content Marketing Executive
  • Digital Producers
  • Pay Per Click Analysts

Future prospects

92% of QA Apprentices secure permanent employment after finishing their apprenticeship.Additionally there may be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer on-going development tracks.
