To support and work alongside the existing building surveying and Property Services team; to progress to Chartered Building Surveyor on successful completion of this apprenticeship and subsequent APC.
We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice who is keen to learn from our existing technicians and asbestos/building/M&E surveyors, who have gained a wealth of experience from across all areas of the construction industry.
We can offer a role where no two days will be the same and there will be opportunities to participate in the following:

In additional, applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Math's and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
Advanced entry
For those holding a Level 4 qualification with specific grades may be possible to enter onto Level 5 of the course and 'top up' your existing qualification to a full degree:

We can offer a role where no two days will be the same and there will be opportunities to participate in the following:
- Work on site undertaking measured or condition surveys
- Preparing and managing construction projects from initial brief through to completion
- Preparing and submitting planning and/or building regulations applications
- Production of drawings using AutoCAD
- Inspecting buildings and identifying defects/specifying remedial works
- Understanding the facilities management role and the importance of planned preventative maintenance
- Reactive maintenance works
- H&S
- Fire safety
- Working with schools
- Undertaking works at leisure facilities, listed buildings, historic sites, museums, theatres and other public or civic buildings
- Delivery of service level agreements, etc.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Good data entry and record keeping skills and attention to detail
- Ability to quickly learn new skills
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience of manipulating performance data within reports e.g. in Excel, and general report writing skills

- Effective interpersonal skills

Desired qualifications
- A-Level BBB or;
- BTEC National Diploma DDM or;
- Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or;
- Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or;
- Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points

- Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Building Surveying/Building related subject
- Construction Surveying Technician Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship or;
- Cognate Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment
Future prospects
- Working outside some of the time
- Occasional working at height (up ladders; on scaffolding
- Inspecting roof areas, etc)
- Lone working (once qualified)
- The role is classed as a 'key worker' position - none of our employees were furloughed during the recent pandemic
Things to consider
- Ideally that the appointed person will either hold or intend to hold a full driving licence as they will need to travel around Peterborough
- There will be a requirement to complete an enhanced DBS check in respect of working with children and a basic level DBS check for working with vulnerable adults
