Our Apprentices are given dedicated time each week to attend their scheduled training courses and complete their apprenticeship studies.

This role is primarily concerned with sellingdelegateplacesonto our eventsand training courseswhich we runGlobally.The successful candidate will be given the support and guidance to develop their skills to be able to;
  • Advise customers on the range and suitability of theevents and courses that we runacrossa number ofindustries, and on any additional services offered, drawing on the experience and expertise of the business development and technical staff where required
  • Make sales which reflect the training needs of the customer, but alsoconsiderfully the overall business strategy, with the aim of maximisinglong-termrevenue
  • Identifycross selling opportunities, understanding the client's needs and providing them with information aboutliveand future events in their relevant portfolio.

TheSales Apprenticewill report tothe Head of Sales and will also have the opportunity to learn from other senior members of the team. The successful candidate will also have a close liaison with other members of theInforma ConnectProduction,Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that all sales activity accurately reflect the needs of theevents and training as well asthe wider portfoliothat Informa Connect offer.

The opportunity for progression in this role is endless, with career pathways available in sales, production or management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generate revenue byselling onlarge scale events, specialised conferences andtraining courses
  • Identify opportunitiesto cross sell our whole portfolio ofeventsFinance, Pharma, Maritime, Marketing, Legal and Tax
  • Provide support, where needed, to ensure revenue is collected on sales that are made
  • Work towards sales and call rate targets set by theHead of Sales and Global Revenue Director
  • Provide detailed feedback to divisional managers and other departments on the progress of each event and sales campaign
  • Contribute to new lead generation activities using all available resources
  • Following up all leads in a timely and pro-active manner
  • Ensure consistence of any sales/marketing information (keeping customersapprisedof current prices, discounts (if any), target audience, priorities, resource availability etc.)
  • Liaise closely with both the widerInforma Connectteams and theeventteamto ensure sales activities are conducted in the most efficient manner, and itisa way that is aligned with the wider business
  • Additional duties as required in support of the overall business and as the need arises

Requirements:

The role:

This role requires theabilityto work remotely as we are adapting a balanced working model which includes time in the office as well as time working from home.

Occasional travel in the UK, Europe or World-wide in order to attend conferences may be required in support of sales / marketing activity.

It is a requirement that the successful candidate will have good numerical and IT skills.

Personal qualities

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, proactive individual with exceptional organisational skills who is eager to start their career in Sales.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and will have proved themselves to be an excellent communicator who can identify a customer's needs, delivering a high level of customer service.

Enthusiasm, drive and great communication skills are essential

Desired qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4 (equivalent to a C) or above is desired.

Future prospects

The employer is looking for the Apprentice to transition into a full-time member of staff.
