Are you an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC registered Band 5 Occupational Therapist, looking to be a part of a company that values and supports you? If so, join the Therapy team at Adderley Green Care Neurological Centre.

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will be a part of a specialist neurological care and rehabilitation centre, where you will provide support to people with a wide range of neurological conditions.

Working across all areas of Adderley Green, you'll gain experience working in complex care (including prolonged disorder of consciousness and tracheostomy care), neurobehavioral, neuro palliative and slow stream rehabilitation settings.

Supported by an experienced Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing and providing treatments to service users, this will see you conduct assessments to promote service users independence and support the long term management of their condition.

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will be a part of complex discharge planning, casting and splinting, reviewing cognition and behaviours and assessing occupational performance and those in prolonged disorders of consciousness. This will see you identify the level of awareness and compiling appropriate treatment plans.

Working alongside an innovative and dedicated team comprising of Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Psychotherapy, Neuropsychology, and Therapy Assistants, you will participate in care planning, goal setting, deliver 1:1 sessions, therapeutic groups and joint sessions and contribute to review reports.

This Occupational Therapist role involves:
  • Non clinical tasks include audits, service development and delivering educational sessions to other members of the team, including new starters
  • Youwillassess suitable equipment, including specialist seating

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Current HPC registration and BOAT membership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in neurology is desirable
