What you will be doing

As a qualified Mental Health Nurse - either with experience or a preceptee - you will ensure that adults with enduring and complex mental health needs or dementia receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

The service operates 24/7. You will work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights. Standard shifts are 12 hours per shift, working 3 shifts one week, 4 shifts the next on a rota basis.

Where you will be working

Situated in the semi-rural area of Steeton with easy access to Three Valleys Hospital and excellent transport links to the surrounding area, the hospital is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community.

A multidisciplinary team work together to develop personalised, recovery focused programmes within the hospitals care pathways. By adopting an enabling approach and social care model, the team can support service users to achieve and maintain optimum functioning and place high emphasis on maximising their quality of life and prevent re-admission to acute services.

As a Registered Nurse, you will become part of our friendly multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to our patients.

Three Valleys Hospital consists of three wards; Oldfield Ward for male mental health rehabilitation and Ingrow Ward for female mental health rehabilitation.

In addition, Oakworth ward our specialist dementia service which has been designed to care for male patients who occasionally have a challenging presentation requiring a compassionate, dementia friendly approach.

We provide a specialist environment to give outstanding care across all 3 services and our staff teams develop transferrable skills to support both mental health rehabilitation and dementia care.
