TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR

SWITCHBOARD - OUTPATIENTS

£19,737 - £21,142 per annum/pro rata (AfC Band 3)

37.5 hours per week - PERMANENT

This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda for Change Annex U trainee rate (75% max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.

The Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Barnsley Hospital's Switchboard/ Contact Centre team. In this Telecommunications Operator post you will be responsible for ensuring that a professional Appointment/Inpatient enquiry service is provided using electronic/telecommunication systems. The work is varied and often demanding, this includes duties responding to emergency calls and alarms such as cardiac arrest and Majax (Major Incident).

The Service

The Telecommunication Operators provide the prime interface between the Trust and public, safely operating a computerised switchboard. Assisting/advising staff, patients, relatives, contractors, service engineers and delivery people with the knowledge of hospital protocol and geographic-knowledge of the site and dependent sites.
