We are looking for a passionate, professional and ambitious Occupational Therapist to join our clinical teams to either cover Yorkshire or North West Area.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody to join a recovery-focused organisation who are striving to provide services that enable individuals to leave/avoid inpatient services and live a meaningful life in a community setting. It will be a varied role operating across multiple sites and working with a wide range of residents and teams.

Northern Health Care provides outcome-focused mental health recovery services across the UK within a supported living setting. Our services include both accommodation-based supported living units and some community outreach into individuals own homes. Within our supported living schemes, we have 24 hours support in place with input from experienced clinicians to oversee resident progression through the clinical pathway.

As a Northern Healthcare Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Be responsible for providing in-reach to our schemes across the Liverpool and Wirral areas.
  • involved in the initial pre-placement assessments,
  • assessing individual residents to ascertain baseline function and working with them to develop a meaningful programme to support their recovery.
  • Ensure NHC clinical pathway is completed
  • Provide reports/feedback to external commissioners/professionals detailing resident progress and outcomes
  • work closely with the wider support team to direct them on facilitating activities and evaluating interventions
  • Develop skills and knowledge of the wider support team as part of the continued professional development


What we are looking for:

  • A Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy, registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and a member of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic and pro-active team player
  • Experience in the field of adult mental health
  • A good understanding of the Occupational Therapy process and interventions in a mental health care setting with a strong ability to link theory to practice
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

You will be required to abide by the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice.

As this role covers multiple sites in Yorkshire or North West, travel between services will be required. Please refer to our website to see the locations of all our sites.
