** 14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Programme within the duration of the placement.

We currently have a vacancy within our Ophthalmology Directorate for an Apprentice Receptionist.

The Ophthalmology department is based within Outpatients West at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. However the successful candidates may also be asked to work at the Central Norwich Eye Clinic which is based in Grove Road, Norwich.

Supervision and support (direct and indirect) will be provided during all tasks, with progression being dependent on the completion of set objectives throughout the 12 months. This will enable the apprentice to work within the organisation to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:
  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSE's at Grade D/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week

Tier 2 Sponsorship - (not apprenticeships): We are pleased to consider applicants who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK but it is unlikely that we would be able to appoint if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available.

UK Registration: You will need to have current UK professional registration where this is a requirement of the role.
