Clinical Lead: Stroke & Complex Rehabilitation

Hours: 37.5 hours

Base: Rutson Rehabilitation, Friarage Hospital Northallerton

This is a new and excellent opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic Therapist or other AHP to be a member of the Senior Clinical Team working within Stroke and complex rehabilitation. You will work with Medical Consultants, Professions Lead, and Stroke Specialists on operational and service development issues with specific responsibility for your own area of professional practice, ensuring that performance targets and high quality patient care is achieved and sustained.

You will be expected to act as Clinical Lead for this specialist area of work, applying advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice. You will lead the MDT, and complex discharge planning for patients following stroke, neurological conditions and other complex conditions requiring rehabilitation. Demonstrating strong leadership behaviours and competencies you will drive transformational change, ensuring services and processes are designed to deliver the highest standards of treatment and care.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
  • Explore leadership within the NHS
  • Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
  • Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
  • Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Although based at the Friarage Hospital the ability to travel between sites is essential.

The post holder will have relevant post graduate study at Masters level or working towards this qualification.
