Cadiac Physiologist - Band 6/7 - Cardiology - 37.5 Hours per week - Permanent

Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? Would you like to work in a dedicated Cardiac Centre which is looking to expand its services? We are looking for enthusiastic, ambitious individuals to join our growing Cardiac Rhythm Management team in Diagnostic Cardiology, at band 6 or 7 level, depending upon experience. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their clinical and leadership skills and progressing their career.

It is essential that the applicant has BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent, and the ability to work independently in Invasive Physiology with specialism in Cardiac Rhythm Management. The candidate should also be capable of independently performing a range of cardiology testing including 12-lead ECG, provocative ECG and ambulatory monitor analysis. It is desirable for the candidate be working towards cardiac device accreditation, for band 6 level. It is essential that the candidate has recognised accreditation for Cardiac Rhythm Management, for the band 7 level post.

Our service includes stress echo's, TOEs, specialist valve disease clinic, angiography, pacing, CRT-P and implantable loop recorders. We are currently working towards physiologist-led services, including stress echo's and an implantable loop recorder service.

We are located in the brand new dedicated Cardiac Centre, including a state of the art Cardiac Catheter Lab. This provides opportunities for a range of cardiac investigations. We are a small, friendly department and are very proud of the quality of services we offer, actively encouraging staff progression, and supporting staff to obtain/maintain accreditation for echo or pacing. We are currently working towards IQIPS and BSE Departmental Accreditation, and supporting a number of staff through the STP Equivalence process. Our Diagnostic Cardiology staff consists of a mix of cardiac physiologists, trainee Healthcare Scientists, apprentices, cardiographers, assistant technical officers and reception/admin support staff.

For Band 1 and Band 2 posts, the cost of the DBS Disclosure will be met by the Trust. However, any employees at Band 1 and Band 2 who leave the Trust within six months of commencing their post will have a £10 administration fee deducted from their final salary. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
