Duties will include:
  • Receive the support of the whole team including two chartered Structural Engineers
  • Support the Structural engineers within the office helping to produce accurate drawings and 3D structural models
  • Following a training period the candidate will then carry out calculations and design civil and structural elements
  • Accompany fellow engineers to site to attend meetings and help complete surveys

  • Be competent in the use of IT with good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Be able to communicate in written English to a good standard
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team
  • Be able to manage your own time and have a simple understanding of prioritisation
  • Be able to produce neat and accurate work
  • Be hard working and eager to learn

Desired qualifications

  • 3 A Levels at grades A*-C including mathematics and physical science or their or equivalent, or will have completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician


Future prospects

The successful candidate will be supported throughout their studies. We will also support the candidate in their applications to obtain professional qualifications e.g. achieving Chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers:

By completing the degree on part time basis, the successful candidate will already have gained +5 years professional experience and will be able to command a higher salary than a similarly qualified graduate.

  • Studying a degree on a part time basis requires dedication and excellent time management and should not be taken on lightly
