A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join Gentoo Group's Procurement team in the role of a Procurement Apprentice.

The team is currently implementing its new five-year strategy, and as part of that is adopting a new partnering approach - and an Apprentice will be key in assisting the Team in achieving its targets.

The successful candidate will be required to be part of a fast-paced team and be able to work in both a reactive and planned manner to ensure compliance with the Group's Financial Regulations as well as those set out within the Public Contract Regulations.

The role will be widely varied and will incorporate administration duties as well as in-house training to help develop the candidate in their journey towards a future career within Procurement.

The successful candidate will be provided with training and will have involvement in tendering practices and procedures, the collation and writing of tender documentation and the various procurement routes available, as well as the issue, receipt, and analysis of tender submissions from the supply chain prior to the award of contracts.

This is an exciting new role and although previous experience in procurement is not essential to apply - an interest in the subject with a view to adopting a career within the procurement sector would be favourable.

The role would be ideal for a motivated individual who is keen to learn, expand their knowledge, has effective communication and time management skills and would be willing to study for MCIPS accreditation. The candidate will also be expected to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

You must have a minimum 4 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) including maths and English.
