We are currently recruiting a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Lodge Brighouse.

Cygnet Lodge Brighouse is a CQC rated 'Good' high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men. The emphasis within the service is on preparing people for discharge, whilst providing a high level of support and uses a recovery focused model. The service provides treatment and interventions for up to 21 men who are experiencing complex psychosis which is closely related to the service users' risk profile. The service has a dedicated Substance Misuse Practitioner and this is a focus within a significant proportion of the service user population.

The Opportunity...

The post-holder will work closely with the Hospital Manager at site level and have a key role in providing specialist psychological assessments, interpretation from psychological tests, semi-structured interviews, individual and group therapy to a range of clients.

This role will be working as part of an established inter-disciplinary team comprisingof; a Consultant Psychiatrist, OT, Social Work, Substance Misuse Practitioner, Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. You will be expected to offer psychological insight and knowledge around the clinical area and provide consultation about the psychological care of the client group to staff, families and other agencies.

As a HCPC Registered Psychologist, you will have a pivotal role in the training and clinical supervision of Assistant Psychologists, Volunteers and Psychology Trainees/Students on site. You will also have involvement in audit, policy, service development along with the assessment and interpretation of outcomes.

You will have...

  • A Doctorate Level Qualification (or equivalent) in Clinical or Forensic Psychology along with HCPC Registration
  • Experience with an adult mental healthclient group
  • Experience within mental health and knowledge of psychological assessment, treatment and therapies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Training and supervision experience is desirable

Contracted hours: up to 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.

Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
