THIS POST IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT / SECONDMENT UNTIL 31st March 2022 TO SUPPORT PPE LOGISTICS WITHIN THE COVID-19 TESTING SERVICE.

Location: Shropshire - flexible to support service provision. Base to be agreed upon appointment.

Hours: 20 hours per week. How these hours will be worked is to be agreed with the successful applicant. There may be additional hours available as required.

The provision and management of PPE supplies is key to our strategy to protect the NHS and save lives, during the current pandemic. The PPE Logistics service provides support with the maintenance of PPE supplies & delivery to multiple trust sites around the county as well as supporting Pillar 1 Covid-19 Testing.

We are looking for a PPE Logistics Assistant with logistics experience and a flexible, problem-solving approach.

The main responsibilities of the role include the monitoring of PPE stock levels across the trust, arranging delivery of PPE orders, and managing volunteer staff.

An excellent level of IT literacy, in particular the use of Excel, is essential as National reporting and completion of stock management systems are also a vital aspect of the role.

*** Important information regarding DBS checks *** If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, you are required to pay the fee for the DBS check which is £50.00 for an Enhanced check and £30.00 for a Standard check

Staff who are new to the NHS will normally start on the bottom increment of the payscale advertised. From 1st April 2019 new starters to the NHS or those promoted to a new role will be subject to pay progression arrangements as contained in Annex 23 of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

  • Clinical Bank Workers - To ensure professional practice and competence is up to date a minimum of 6 assignments must be undertaken in each period of 3 months and you must attend any training you are notified of. It is your responsibility to provide evidence that your professional practice is up to date.
  • Non-clinical Bank Workers - A minimum of 1 assignment must be undertaken in a 6 month period and you must attend any training you are notified of.
