Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has made a remarkable start in the delivery of our Mass Vaccination Service. We are extremely proud of every individual that has made this possible and, now as we step in to this next phase, we are in need of more passionate and skilled RHCPs to continue with this combined effort. The RHCP post is a key and rewarding role where you can utilise your skills and knowledge to make a real impact in this history making service.

Where will you work?

We are delivering the vaccine in many different locations so we have the opportunity for you to work across a variety of site, keeping each day different and exciting! Travel expenses will be paid as per policy.

*This role requires flexibility to work between county & PCN sites*

What will the role involve?

As a COVID 19 RHCP you will be responsible for:
  • Conducting pre vaccination clinical assessments.
  • Reviewing patient medical histories and any potential adverse reactions.
  • Preparing the vaccine prior to administration by using aseptic technique.
  • Dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi dose vials.
  • Setting up the vaccination station.
  • Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up to date skills and adhering to policies and procedures.

To be considered for the role you will hold a professional healthcare registration and be willing to put yourself forward to undertake training and lend a hand. You could be a Nurse, Pharmacist, Occupational Health practitioner or other registered healthcare professional as outlined on the national protocol.
