We are in the process of reforming our team; this marks the beginning of our journey towards achieving SLC's Vision - to be valued as a digital, customer-focused, centre of excellence. To achieve our vision, we require a dedicated team of staff.

There are two distinct roles, one of which sits within the RPA (Robotic Process Automation) department, who provide tactical and operational systems to a variety of departments and provide support to strategic systems when required. Our work falls predominantly into two main areas; bespoke system development and intelligent automation. Team members will be expected to work across both areas over time, and as such, we expect all to contribute to multiple activities across the development life cycle, developing their "T-shaped" skills in doing so.

Our Apprenticeship scheme is a three-tier programme:
  • In-role development with defined objectives and development plan
  • Out of role development, including specific training in business skills and 'masterclasses' which are interactive workshops focusing on different areas at SLC to help broaden your knowledge of the business
  • The last tier is the tailored, wrap around support available to Apprentices which form 4 pillars; manager, mentor, buddy, peers

Key Responsibilities:

Apprentice developers will support the successful delivery of team objectives by:
  • Spending a substantial portion of time shadowing others
  • Working with other developers to write code and tests
