What will the apprentice be doing?
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) Officer role is vital to the effective/efficient running of our flood risk assets such as pumping stations and water control structures. Your work will support the prioritisation, planning and delivery of maintenance and asset replacement to maintain flood protection to homes, businesses, and the environment.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
A minimum of 20% is delivered off-the-job, the rest of your time will be in the workplace. You'll be responsible for completing coursework on time, maintaining up to date evidence for your assessments and putting into practice what you're learning. On successful completion of the apprenticeship you will gain a Level 4 qualification (equivalent to an HNC).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This is a permanent position and after successful completion of the apprenticeship your employment will continue with us. We will continue to support your personal development and career progression and you will have the opportunity to build on the learning gained in the apprenticeship.
