The Audit and Accounts Trainee duties will be:

Accounts preparation:
  • Prepare analysis and make postings using the firm's accounting software
  • Produce straightforward draft financial statements in statutory format using the firm's accounting software
  • Complete disclosure checklists for companies preparing accounts under UK GAAP

Audit:
  • Prepare audit planning documentation for review by the supervisor
  • Carry out internal control, system and walkthrough tests
  • Attend simple stock stakes
  • Carry out basic audit tests as part of a team in relation to other statutory or non-statutory audits and due diligence work

Other:
  • Identify basic tax adjustments arising from accounts production and audit work
  • Prepare simple corporation tax returns using the firm's taxation software

Desired qualifications

Desired:
  • 2:2 Hons or above in any degree discipline (attained or expected) or;
  • Minimum of 128 UCAS Points (based on the new UCAS Tariff), ABB grades at A level and

Essential:
  • GCSE or equivalents at grade B [Level 6] or above in English Language and maths
